Hello & Farewell Series // La Jolla Cove - horizontal landscape painting
I grew up in California visiting the beach with my family often, mostly in the Santa Cruz area. So when I went to college in Southern California, La Jolla’s beaches felt like a comforting and familiar haven that helped keep me afloat during a challenging season of life.
After getting married and having my first two sons, we had the opportunity to take a vacation to San Diego and visit this beach again. It was lovely to be there again after many years and in a very different season of life, and to share a special place with my family.
La Jolla is filled with so much beauty that I just had to include it in my favorite views that encapsulate what California is to me.
This piece is a part of my Hello & Farewell series released in 2024, featuring the landscapes of my old home-state of California and my new home-state of Tennessee that have made a permanent impression on me. I hope they will do the same for you.
